Neven Sidor

Neven Sidor studied architecture at Nottingham University. Qualifying in 1977, he joined Grimshaw in 1981. He devotes the bulk of his time to design and believes in the spirit of exploration; to follow a chain of rational decisions to see where that leads in terms of design. Neven leads all competition work, continually driving Grimshaw to explore new areas and territories.
Work by Grimshaw that you may be familiar with includes the Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Plant and Headquarters, the Fulton Street Transit Center in New York, and Waterloo Station's International Terminal.

Dirk Krolikows

Dirk studied architecture at the University of Washington USA and the RWTH Aachen University Germany, graduating with distinction. He has also won several international scholarships and awards for his work. After working for practices in Germany and the UK he joined Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners when it was Richard Rogers Partnership in 2005 and was made an Associate in 2007.
Amongst other projects, Dirk has been working on the design of The Leadenhall Building, a 50-storey tower in the centre of London.

Ivan Harbour

Ivan Harbour joined the Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (formely RRP) in 1985 and was made a Director in 1993. Ivan is currently Design Director of a number of prestigious architecture and masterplanning projects around the world including the Ching Fu Headquarters and I-Shou library in Taiwan as well as several projects in New York, Washington and Europe. Ivan is integrally involved in these projects from concept design stage through to the built scheme.
Landmark buildings in which Ivan has led the design include the National Assembly for Wales, Madrid Airport, winner of the 2006 Stirling Prize, Mossbourne Community Academy, the Law Courts in Antwerp and Bordeaux and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Ivan has also contributed to the design of a number of major masterplanning projects, of which Mantua and Maratella in Italy, are currently in progress. Ivan was Director in Charge of the proposed redevelopment of the South Bank Centre in London, ParcBIT in Mallorca, and the Antwerp New South Masterplan. Over a period of ten years Ivan has designed and built his own house in Hackney, East London.
Ivan has lectured at universities and institutes throughout Europe, he has also taught in Australia.

Matthew Wells

| Matthew Wells is a structural engineer with 25 years experience in the design of buildings and bridges. Since qualifying with first class degrees in architecture and civil engineering he has developed his interest in the interface between structural design and architecture.
He has been responsible for a very wide range of office, hotel, commercial, retail and domestic contracts, both new build and refurbishments. Amongst these structures are Prague Castle Orangery and the Faith Zone, Millennium Dome, with Eva Jiricna Architects. His many bridge designs include the award winning Royal Victoria Dock footbridge in London with Lifschutz Davidson Architects, and the retail bridge at Tung Chung New Town, Hong Kong, with Anthony Ng Architects.
Matthew has taught at various Schools of Architecture and Engineering and has served on the Architectural Association Council. He is currently a technical tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Visiting Professor of Architectural Engineering at Leeds University.

Wolf Mangelsdorf

Wolf Mangelsdorf was born and grew up in Germany near Würzburg. He studied Architecture and Civil Engineering at Karlsruhe University, where he also worked for an architectural practice after graduation.
After a research stay at Kyoto University he moved to Britain in 1997 and to work as a structural engineer at Anthony Hunt Associates in their Cirencester and London offices.
Since 2002 he has been with Buro Happold in London where he is a partner and Group Director, leading a team of structural engineers and specialists in complex geometry. His large portfolio of current projects include the redevelopment of Battersea Powerstation and the Museum of Transport in Glasgow.
Wolf has been teaching technical studies at the AA in Diploma School since 2000 and has been a guest lecturer and tutor at a number of Universities internationally.

Edward Jones

Edward Jones graduated from the AA in 1963 and since 1989 has been principle in the firm Dixon Jones. He has taught and lectured widely in England and North America and is presently an honorary professor in the Welsh School in Cardiff.
Dixon Jones has won many national and international competitions and awards, most notably the Mississauga City Hall (Canada), the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Venice Bus Station. Over the last 16 years, the practice has focussed on arts and university buildings, equally balanced between new work and restoration.

Mike Tonkin

Having received a first class honours degree from Leeds School of Architecture, he completed a Master's degree at the Royal College of Art and qualified as an Architect in 1989. After working for Nigel Coates and Eva Jiricna in Japan and London, he spent several years traveling and studying before settling in Hong Kong. Tonkin Design in Hong Kong undertook projects in Austria, Indonesia, England, Thailand, and Hong Kong. He returned to England in 1997 and set up practice.
