London lies an area known as the Thames Gateway. Targeted by the government
as a key area for regeneration, the area will be the focus of massive investment
over the next few years. New
infrastructure programmes will embrace the expanding business centres of London
and provide much needed residential and leisure facilities for the existing communities.
One of the unique and environmentally sensitive characteristics
of this area are the wetlands that line the Thames Estuary. The third
Line of Site brief looks to create a iconic arts centre that will be visual landmark
at the entrance to one of the world's most exciting, vibrant and culturally diverse
